# Y2 Desktop 0.1.0 — Unofficial beta

This is an unsigned early-access build distributed by Y2. Apple notarization and
Windows publisher signing are not available yet. The app installs as Y2 and uses
your existing Y2 account and cloud workspace. Internet access is required.

## Installation

- macOS 12 or later, Apple silicon or Intel: open the DMG and drag Y2 to Applications.
  After a blocked first launch, use System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway
  for Y2 if you choose to trust this download. See https://support.apple.com/102445.
- Windows 10 or later, x64: run the EXE setup wizard. An unknown-publisher warning is
  expected. SmartScreen may offer More info → Run anyway. Managed devices or Smart App
  Control may block unsigned apps; use https://y2.dev/login if no exception is available.
- Compare your file with the SHA-256 checksum before opening it. Do not proceed if the
  checksum differs or your antivirus reports malware.

## Updates

Install future versions manually from https://y2.dev/download. These builds do not
receive automatic updates. Signing and verified automatic updates are tracked in
apps/desktop/TODO.md. The source package version is not changed by publication.
